There's plenty going on as regards connectivity. The A49 has a low-noise MM phono stage (based around audiophile op-amps), a balanced input and no fewer than six line-level feeds - if it's not desired, the phono input can be transformed into a seventh line-level one.

My distributor now offers to do this upgrade or a refund. There is no longer other new stock. However we've hooked up the Arcam A49 where our Onkyo M5000r, P3000r and C7000r Reference electronics was and the A49 has more ability than the Onkyo system on its own. I will add that have hooked it up to a Teac UD-501 and are now streaming music via a laptop. The results are quite staggering and well worth a listen.
